K-12 Student Activity Funds: Fraud Risk and Perceptions

K-12 Student Activity Funds: Fraud Risk and Perceptions

School districts manage billions of dollars in federal, state, and local funds with rigorous accountability. But the fees, fundraisers, and student activity funds that move through schools every day have largely operated outside that system. New KEV Group research surveying district CFOs, school staff, and parents shows the cost: 97% of CFOs reported at least one financial incident in the past three years.

In this on-demand webinar, moderator David DeSchriver of Whiteboard Advisors leads a discussion with Marguerite Roza of Georgetown’s Edunomics Lab, David Kampfe, Chief Revenue Officer at KEV Group, and Stephen Frost, former Business Administrator at Tenafly Public Schools. Together they explain why school-level funds are so hard to govern, where confidence breaks down between the district office, the classroom, and families, and how districts can prepare for federal tax credit scholarships that will send more money through these same accounts.

Speakers:

  1. David DeSchriver, Senior Vice President, Whiteboard Advisors (moderator)
  2. Marguerite Roza, Director, Edunomics Lab at Georgetown University
  3. David Kampfe, Chief Revenue Officer, KEV Group
