TORONTO, ON – KEVCon ’23 – May 10, 2023  — KEV Group today presented the Regina Catholic School Division (RCSD) with the KEVvies Award for Western Canada, based on RCSD’s notable achievements utilizing the SchoolCash platform. The KEVvies Awards recognize school districts that have demonstrated vision, leadership, hard work, and innovation using KEV’s school activity fund software solutions. Every year, Districts from each of three geographical regions – in the United States, Western Canada and Eastern Canada – are recognized for their achievements.

“Regina Catholic School Division has demonstrated true leadership in creating processes that help streamline and simplify their activity fund management,” said Jennifer Sutton, Chief Customer Officer at KEV Group. “Initially spurred by pandemic requirements, RCSD enthusiastically embraced and has expanded the SchoolCash platform to increase transparency and eliminate administrative inefficiencies, resulting in this richly deserved award.”

“The 2021-22 school year challenged the Regina Catholic School Division as it decided to implement the collection of lunchroom supervision fees at most elementary schools for students that stayed for lunch. The KEV Group’s SchoolCash platform was already being used to collect school fees, however its use was inconsistent and fell as our priority shifted to cope with the pandemic. We recognized that SchoolCash was the perfect platform to use to collect these fees,” noted Josh Kramer, CFO, Regina Catholic Schools. “The collection of supervision fees was sent out to all parents at most elementary schools and resulted in the SchoolCash adoption rate to increase significantly.”

“RCSD is on the leading-edge of the growing movement towards reducing cash handling at schools across Canadian provinces to reduce risks by implementing SchoolCash,” said Sutton.

Added Kramer, “By having an integrated portal for processing school activity fees online, one that interfaces with both Divisional and school-level accounting systems, the RCSD has seen administrative efficiencies increase and risks associated with cash handling tasks decrease, to the benefit of school staff, parents and students.”

Each year, the KEVvies Awards are presented during KEVCon, KEV’s annual user conferences, which are being held virtually in 2023 from April 5-6th for the company’s customers in the United States, May 10-11th, 2023 for customers in Western Canada, and May 17-18, 2023 for customers in Eastern Canada.
