TORONTO, ON –  KEVCon ’21 – May 18, 2021 — KEV Group today presented Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) with the KEVvies Award for Eastern Canada. The KEVvies Award recognizes school board districts that have demonstrated vision, leadership, hard work, and innovation in using KEV’s school activity fund software solutions.

“Stretching back to the early 2000s as one of our very first clients, Halton Catholic has been a trailblazer and a model of financial accountability and efficiency,” said Jennifer Sutton, Vice President of Client Success at KEV Group. “They are among the earliest boards to replace spreadsheets and a patchwork of applications and processes with the SchoolCash accounting module, while their efforts to move their parent/guardian community to adopt online payments is inspiring.”

Currently, the Board processes $12.3 million in activity funds annually through the SchoolCash platform. While SchoolCash supports all payment types – including cash, cheque, credit, and debit cards – the Board has worked diligently to drive online payment adoption by their parent/guardian community. Today, the Board boasts an adoption rate of 92% and collects close to 70% of its activity funds online.

“Having an integrated solution for activity fund management has given us real-time visibility and control over every step of the process,” said Jo-Anne Tucker, School Administration Systems Liaison, Halton Catholic District School Board. “It’s allowed us to efficiently safeguard school funds while providing convenience to our parent/guardian community with the online payments module. This award is a testament to the hard work and efforts of everyone within our Board in driving adoption across our community.”

The award was presented during KEVCon ’21, KEV’s annual user conference, which was held virtually this year from May 18-19, 2021 for the company’s customers in Eastern Canada. North Vancouver School District received the KEVvies Award for Western Canada and Knox County Schools accepted the KEVvies Awards for the US at KEVCon ‘21 events held on April 20-21 and May 11-12, respectively.

Launched earlier this year, the KEVvies Awards program honours districts from three geographical regions—Western Canada, Eastern Canada, and the US—on an annual basis.
