TORONTO, ON – KEVCon ’23 – April 5, 2023 — KEV Group today presented Ascension Parish School Board and Klein Independent School District with KEVvies awards for their significant achievements utilizing the SchoolCash platform. The KEVvies Awards recognize school districts that have demonstrated vision, leadership, hard work, and innovation using KEV’s school activity fund software solutions. Every year, Districts from each of three geographical regions – in the United States, Western Canada and Eastern Canada – are recognized for their achievements.
“Ascension Parish School Board has shown great dedication in creating processes that help streamline and simplify their activity fund management,” said Jennifer Sutton, Chief Customer Officer at KEV Group. “Their success in leveraging the SchoolCash platform to increase transparency and eliminate administrative inefficiencies makes them so deserving of this award.”
The District has been using SchoolCash since 2011, and over the years have expanded their use of the platform to further drive efficiencies and remove as much cash as possible from their schools. Thanks to these efforts, Ascension Parish School Board has been able to collect over $1.3M in activity funds annually using SchoolCash Online and boasts an impressive 89% parent adoption rate.
“In addition to significantly reducing administrative inefficiencies, SchoolCash eliminated barriers by connecting staff, and allowing us to establish more consistency and transparency across the district,” explained Kimneye Cox, Ascension Parish’s Director of Business Services. “It also provided us with centralized tools for board-wide, consolidated reporting that helped us achieve cleaner audits.”
“Klein ISD’s history of superior achievement in financial reporting and controls is impressive, with the highest rating under the Schools Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST) for 17 consecutive years,” commented Sutton. “The fact that they chose SchoolCash to help them maintain their highest standards of fiscal management and integrity is a real honor for KEV and makes them equally deserving of a KEVvies award.”
Klein ISD wanted a solution that offered superior financial controls, allow them to standardize school finance and reporting, reduce the amount of cash moving through their schools, and improve school-to-home communication. SchoolCash fit the bill, and their success with the platform has come from over 15 years of vision, leadership, hard work, and innovation.
“Automating our school activity fund management processes was in keeping with our long-standing commitment to excellence in fiscal management and financial integrity,” said Kelly Coppin, Activity Funds Specialist with Klein ISD. “It is a great honor to be recognized for our commitment in these areas and we look forward to continuing to grow our adoption and usage of SchoolCash in the years ahead.”
Each year, the awards are presented during KEVCon, KEV’s annual user conference, which was held virtually this year from April 5-6th, for the company’s customers in the United States. The KEVvies award winners for Western and Eastern Canada will be presented at their respective conferences being held May 10-11, 2023 and May 17-18, 2023.
